It is undeniable that school uniforms improve the social outcomes in a school environment. It is always the clothing and latest trends which are the main cause of most of the social conflict. Because, in most of the cases, the fight starts when children are made fun of by other children regarding the way they are dressed. Many children make use of their dress code to express themselves. The students know that their status would be judged by the dresses that they wear. School uniforms take care of these aspects within the school premises. Many educationalists, feel that by improving on the social environment through school dress, both the academic and personal outcomes of a student improves.

But there are others also who feel that wearing school uniforms does not give a chance for the students to self express which is an important part of a child's development. If children are forced to wear uniforms, they have to find other ways to express themselves better, maybe in the form of ornaments or make ups and this may lead to girls dressing up gaudily. There is always a lot of controversy regarding all these issues which needs a lot of thinking.
